When Life Forces You to Pause
As we go through life, challenges arise whether personal, professional, or health-related. When this happens, giving yourself permission to step off the hamster wheel is essential. Creating space to rest, recover, and reflect is vital for your well-being.
At the start of this year, I faced a significant health challenge. It forced me to step away from my work, social life, and all the routines that made up my day. Initially, I had no choice but to slow down. Taking the necessary time out for self-care put me back in the driving seat far quicker than had I not taken the time to heal. Why? Because self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity.
We are human. Life happens. Stress builds up. Sometimes, the best thing we can do for ourselves is to recognize when we need to pause, reflect, rest, and even seek professional help.
When we ignore these signals and push through, our nervous system goes into overdrive. We begin hearing those damaging mind stories:
🌀 “You’ve brought this on yourself.”
🌀 “This is it.”
🌀 “I’m never going to feel better.”
🌀 “I’m too exhausted to do anything.”
🌀 “What’s the point?”
These thoughts create a cycle of stress, sending signals to the body that reinforce them—like being stuck in a washing machine on a never-ending spin cycle. It’s exhausting.
But here’s the good news: this cycle can be changed, and turned into a positive direction.
I use my own therapy to support my life—and honestly, I don’t know where I’d be without it. If you’re feeling stuck, I want you to know this: you are worth more than your struggles. Life may knock you down, but you don’t have to stay stuck. All it takes is one small step forward today.
5 Ways to Reignite Your Drive
We all experience times when motivation feels out of reach. Whether it’s feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply uninspired, low motivation can make even the simplest tasks feel daunting. But motivation isn’t something you either have or don’t—it can be rebuilt.
Signs of Low Motivation
Recognizing when your motivation is slipping is the first step in regaining it. Common signs include:
✔️ Struggling to start or complete tasks
✔️ Feeling disengaged from work or personal projects
✔️ Constant procrastination or distraction
✔️ Lack of enthusiasm for things you once enjoyed
✔️ Feeling stuck in a rut without direction
If this sounds familiar, don’t worry—here’s how to get back on track.
Find Your “Why”
When motivation fades, it often means you’ve lost touch with your purpose or you may have outgrown your current situation.
Ask yourself:
🔹 Why did I start this in the first place?
🔹 What impact will this have on my life or others?
🔹 How will I feel once I achieve this?
Your why is your anchor—it keeps you steady when motivation wavers.
Align with Your Values
Sometimes, low motivation stems from pursuing something that doesn’t align with your core values.
Values are the personal standards by which we live. When we ignore them, life can feel empty or directionless. But when our goals and actions align with what truly matters, motivation flows naturally.
Set Achievable Goals
Big goals are exciting but can also feel overwhelming. If motivation is fading, break things down into small, manageable steps:
🔹 Set clear, specific goals
🔹 Break them into bite-sized tasks
🔹 Celebrate small wins along the way
Progress, no matter how small, builds momentum.
Cultivate a Growth Mindset
A fixed mindset sees obstacles as failures. A growth mindset sees them as opportunities to learn.
❌ “I can’t do this.” → ✅ “I haven’t figured it out yet, but I will.”
❌ “I’m not good at this.” → ✅ “I can improve with practice.”
Be kind to yourself. Growth takes time. Setbacks don’t define you—they teach you.
Rule Out Other Causes
Low motivation isn’t always about mindset. Sometimes, it’s linked to physical or emotional factors like:
🔸 Lack of sleep or burnout
🔸 Poor nutrition and low energy
🔸 High stress or emotional overwhelm
🔸 Underlying mental health challenges
If motivation remains low despite your efforts, check in with yourself, or a professional to address any underlying causes.
The Power of Energy and Frequency Shapes Your Reality
Energy is the foundation of everything. Your vibrational frequency impacts what you attract into your life. Within just 17 seconds of a thought rolling in the mind, similar energy patterns begin to align with your thoughts, whether positive or negative. Imagine the impact when thoughts become repetitive!
Every time we restore balance within ourselves, the cells in our body respond, attune to the energy we generate. Lower-frequency emotions like worry, fear, and despair can leave you feeling weighed down, reinforcing negative thought patterns.
However, when we shift to higher-frequency emotions like joy, peace, and love, our entire perception of life changes. We respond differently to challenges, maintain greater emotional stability, and create a sense of steady alignment between mind, body, and soul.
Many people tell me, “No matter how much I try to think positive thoughts, the negative ones keep coming back”. If you feel trapped in this cycle, you’re not alone.
But here’s the truth: You don’t have to stay stuck. The capability of breaking free is right around the corner.
Motivation isn’t something that magically appears—it comes from taking action and working from the 5 points mentioned above. Energy balance is vital in elevating motivation.
Change your mind, change your life creates a balance between mind, body, and soul.

Here’s what others have to say about experiencing change your mind, change your life
After the session, I felt an instant change
When I spoke to Diane about how I was feeling and she suggested having a healing session with her, it just felt right so I booked to see her the following week. The session was amazing. I connected deeply with my inner child and engraved thoughts and fears were addressed. After the session, I felt an instant change.
3 months later and even though challenges are still coming up, I can deal with them using some of the techniques she gave me. Thank you Diane for being approachable, understanding, and non-judgemental.

My mental block was no longer there and my anxiety levels were much lower
I am so impressed with my experience of Diane’s ‘Change your Mind, Change your Life’ session that I had to share. After completing a short questionnaire, we ‘met’ over Zoom where we discussed areas of my life that were causing me anxiety.
Diane worked with my higher self to change my mindset to turn the negative into a positive. We worked together to come up with 3 ‘homework’ tasks over the next week – an activity, an affirmation, and a daily challenge. I found that I was receptive to the tasks and the daily challenge became easier so, when we met for a short follow-up WhatsApp call, I noticed a distinct improvement in my attitude, my mental block was no longer there and my anxiety levels were much lower.
I felt like a weight had lifted from my shoulders. I can highly recommend working with Diane to make positive changes to your life. She was approachable, encouraging, and supportive. Thanks, Diane!

I was stuck in overwhelm and not moving forward, out of nowhere, I received the thing I was waiting for to tick off that goal. Like magic
Di has helped me numerous times over the years I have known her. She cuts through all your mind chatter, helps you organise your thoughts, shift back into your power and move the energy as needed.
I was stuck in overwhelm and not moving forward with the goal I had set. A few hours after the session my energy was high but stable, I had clarity and felt, in my power.
Then out of nowhere, I received the thing I was waiting for to tick off that goal. Like magic.
Thank you, Di I am forever grateful for your help, love, and support.

Diane has a unique way of helping you to unpick yourself, I was completely blindsided
I had two sessions with Diane. In the very first session, something came to light which was, to put it mildly, revelatory at the time. To put this into context, I have done A LOT of personal development training and workshops, not to mention read many books, etc. over more than a decade.
However, I was completely blindsided by this aspect which had never crossed my awareness. It was so obvious that it was almost funny how I had not realized this before.
In my next session, something unexpected came up in relation to my father (he wasn’t even on my mind when we started the call). It brought greater clarity and awareness to not only my relationship with him but a deeper understanding of where he was coming from.
This prompted me to visit him that week (he has severely advanced dementia now and I do not see him often).
Diane has a unique way of helping you to unpick yourself, gain greater insights into what may be holding you back or facilitate a release of some kind. Therefore, I would highly recommend Diane who has a wealth of experience in therapeutic coaching/mentoring.
